Short story I have been always wanted to build a shop, but have never had the funds. This last year we decided to just do it. I have worked out of or garage that at times been a tad bit to small, the pain of having to drag something outside to flip it over because the 8ft ceiling, or side shuffle down the side to squeeze by something. It has been a dream to have a bigger work area, and a place to hang out with friends and family. After lurking around here getting ideas, I found out just how fast this really adds up the cost. lol

It has been a fun and not so fun journey to get to where we are at now, but it is worth every penny to me.

We started last spring, but got rained out for a month and a half before we could really get started.

Fill in around that stump some and it'd be a nice anvil base.
You do have one right? If you been hanging around here you know you one anvil and at least 5 vises.

Looks good and congrats on starting your build.
Trailer that you build in garage? Edit. I guess so.

Is your build completed, or are you documenting along the way? either way looking forward to see what you do with it. I have a 30 by 40, but only have 10 foot ceilings. Wish I had 12 or even better 16 or 18.

Pretty crazy how far off the grade was. Looking closely I guess I can kind of tell, but I really don't have a great eye for it.

Had to rent a backhoe to dig the ditch for the septic, water, and electric.

rented for the weekend, so Friday evening I move some dirt to bring out the pad further so it would be flat under where my covered area is going to go it was going good till I went for a scoop by the creek.lol

didn't look to bad from this side, but the otherside..well.

and just a few hours later and a few logs, shovling, and leaning how to use the bucket and the hoe at the same time. I was out. :rocker:

some wall getting up, know you can start getting a feel of place. It always looked really small when it was just a pad and some sq tubing.

Remember the friend the trailer was for?
he hooked me up with 3 to 4"s of closed cell foam to keep it nice and toasty, and cool this summer.

sprayed on a topcaot and used rollers and brushes to fill any pin holes.
this is the same stuff they put on roofs after they foam. messy stuff.

Nice build; I like the choice of going with the metal framing. Are you planning on putting up any other wall covering and or shelves?

Looking good. I have a 30X40 and would like to foam insulate it. Ball park estimate, what would it cost.? Thanks.

I built him a trailer and a few other welding jobs, but he told me about 10,000 to 12. I had another est from a insulation company and it was about 5,700 so for 2inches with the topcoat it got to be pretty good.

I plan on finishing the walls with osb and the 1x3s like in the last pic. Was putting up the osb, but I ran out of screws. Lol, and had to get back to working on my friends quads.
