Any of you guys have these? Like'em? Hate'em?

They're expensive sum-*******, so I thought I should inquire first.

I have the Craftsman branded set (with a hook lock, not the ratcheting lock), also made in France. They're my go to over any regular pliers, and work great in hard to reach cramped spaces.

Those look nice. I don't like the plastic end pieces though. I have an a different brand, that works well.

Get the mayhem ones that have the rigiflex cable. It's a flexible cable that stays in whatever way you bend it. Very neat

The main selling point with the latest pair pictured is ease of cable replacement. Compared to older models, the new ones have a lot more plastic components but, the new materials seem to be just as durable as the older versions.

The saw edge latch is great for adjusting the amount of pressure on the clamp and enables you to position the clamp easier while reducing the amount of pressure you have to squeeze the handles.
With the single hook latches, it's either all the way open or up to your grip strength when positioning the clamp. :dunno:

The one without the plastic pieces; the 28650; is being phased out in favor of the new 28680. I guess the company is fairly confident in those plastic pieces if they're willing to phase out the regular version. :dunno:

Hopefully it's really durable. Mayhew makes good tools so I'm sure they know what they are doing. Unlike oemtools that uses plastic snap rings to keep there ratcheting line wrenches together.. Still upset about that.

A must have tool for modern cars. I have one by somebody else but it stopped working. Won't stay locked in position so I need another one. Thanks for the thread.

I almost bought a used Snap On for roughly the same price as this same Mayhew goes for new. Glad I didn't. It's definitely on my list of things to get in the near future.

Anyone use the new Mayhew Rigiflex model 28690?
