Just got this one going

Hardwood maple 8' top

Steel .120" wall steel frame

Back Splash powered and plumbed for air.

Over Bench Shelf with LED lighting underneath

Hose Reel

Vise mount

Adjustable feet.

Slide out/in Harbor Freight storage bins.

Oh yea a 3/8" thick Steel top with 1/4" back splash to weld/pound on :shocking:

OK the lists is complete. Time to make some sparks.

painted the frame black but left the welding table raw, on top, however I did an old Navy Machinists trick. I heated the top to 500 Degrees Fahrenheit using a rosebud torch on the Ox/Acetylene rig. Then once the temp was verified I poured motor oil on it, liberally rubbed it in and let it cool. It will now never rust. It is sort of like tempering an Iron Skillet.

Swapped drawers around to set up the way the customer requested.

He will be finishing the top himself. (Tongue Oil I think)

Why have (3) air hookups with a hose less than 10' away...? :headscrat

Looks awesome! You have me considering taking the casters off my boxes to put them under a long, 1-piece top!

The customer uses Whips off his air tools. He is old school and I build to suit.

Yep, he supplied all the hardware and and chose those.

Most of the stuff I build, I use the stainless steel covers, they polish up real nice. :thumbup:

I like the concept of the HF cabinets, but I hate trying to work at a bench or machine without a toe kick.

I ran a cnc mill for years without a toe space and kicked the machine every time I walked up to it.

Benches just don't feel comfortable without it.

Thanks for posting that. Like I said above, I was considering putting my boxes on the floor when I move them in a couple months. On second thought, I probably wont! :thumbup:

I put a 3" overhang on the front of the bench face to help with that. The problem raising for a toe kick is the additional height of the work surface. (The owner demanded a low working height)

Yeah I figured youd do a overhang, but just couldn't tell from the pics.
