We are finally getting ready to build a house and shop on the land we purchased last year. The land was completely overgrown so it has been a journey. We have had so much rain recently that breaking ground has been delayed but it looks like next week will be much better.
Plans are for a reverse 1-1/2 house with a 40x60 outbuilding with another 12 foot of overhang. Shop will be used for car restoration projects.
Here is an overhead of the property before we started:

After some basic clearing to get into the property:

There is a small pond in there:

Looks like I need to resize and correct the links. Kind of a hassle for Google hosted pics it looks like. I uploaded a couple to an album here but there has to be a better way.

Outbuilding will have a 40x60 6" slab and then a 40x22 4" parking slab along with a smaller 4" slab for a porch area. The overhang will probably just have gravel underneath but may go with concrete.
The shop will have 14' ceilings to allow for my 4 post lift and a future 2 post lift. Plans are for a small office and bathroom.

The electric company is in the process of setting a utility pole and running the lines. The property is about 40 minutes from where I currently live so not sure if it has been completed yet or not. The house builder is going to drop some gravel for a temporary driveway early next week and then start on the basement dig and footings. The shop builder is hard to get a hold of but is "supposed" to start anytime now. The plumber for the shop rough-in has already been lined up for the middle of next week. It has been a little like herding cats trying to get all the parties coordinated. I will be really happy once the shop is completed.
Waiting the 30 days for the concrete to cure will not be fun. Eager to get in there and coat the floor so that I can start emptying out our current house before putting it on the market. New enclosed trailer should show up next week as well.
The speed of life is getting ready to increase.

Sweet, what brand of pallet forks are those?

I have Artillian on my wishlist but they get GOOD money for those things.

I will have to check. I bought the tractor used and they were part of the deal. Came with a mower deck, tiller attachment and the forks.

We are not going to clear the entire land. Only 2-3 acres of it so I'm thinking that the tractor will be big enough.

The plan is to leave enough of the trees so that you can't see much (or anything) from the street. That and a gate at the entrance should keep prying eyes at bay.

No new pics yet. We spent most of the weekend doing some more clearing. The house build and shop builder are both supposed to start this Thursday. The house builder is great. He is quick to reply and keeps me updated. The shop builder on the other hand is a pain. Extremely hard to get a hold of and is very slow to respond. Multiple delays. I will be very happy to get that portion completed.

Trail camera just went off showing a gravel truck backing so it looks like I'm getting a driveway today.

Looking great! We bought 5 acres two years ago and should have it paid off this year. I'm hoping to build a 48' x 72' shop on it next year, and put in temporary living quarters. Put our house on the market and move into the shop until we are ready to build the house. Keep us updated on your project!

That's going to be a huge shop! Maybe it's just the terrain, but 6 acres in MO looks way bigger than 6 acres in GA.

The county here specifically prohibits that. We were considering doing the same thing. Now if we just happen to park an RV in the outbuilding and be too tired to drive home.....:D

It will fill up fast. 4 post lift, 2 post lift, office, bathroom...

We will only be clearing about half. Plans are to leave the rest wooded. You cannot see the house or building from the street and we like that.

I like the walk out. Wish we could have done one. I am interested to see how they do your footings to see if my crew was just lazy or if its a regional thing to not make them perfectly smooth.

Beautiful layout, love the view of the pond and the entrance to the barn. Should make it easy to see if someone drives up while you are in the barn working.
All of my family were born in Mo. Around Fordland and Seymour, about 40 miles from Springfield. I was the only Jayhawker, born in Kansas.:dunno:

Are you going to have to really build up the elevation on the front for the walk out?

Beautiful property. Love all the trees.
