I picked this up today for $80. Originally I had tentatively negotiated $60 but then the guy said he had someone coming who wanted to pay more. I told him Id do $70 and he agreed since I was first in line. I go there and he didnt have change so I gave him the $80 which is what he wanted to begin with.

I was mainly interested in the pedestal but when I got it home and tested it and looked it over good I found that this is an amazing grinder. Its rated at 1/3 HP but it is more powerful than my Craftsman 1/2 HP block grinders. The lighted eye shields are in terrific shape as are the badges and switch.

I suppose I will have to restore it now...lol. It looks like it is missing a tool rests and the end covers. Anyone have a line on these parts? After some research it is hard to date. Maybe 40s?

And as a bonus he is my redone Wilton 9450 I picked up last week for $20

Not sold on the color.

Anything blue is hard to pull off. The grinder and pedestal are sweet, great score!

The grinder was a kickass deal, congrats! The blue Wilton for $20 earns you a major league YOU ****, but is offset by the sucky blue paint..... So you broke even on that one.

LOL..The blue did not turn out how I figured. Its an easy repaint though. I am actually liking some version of the original light green color.

The Van Dorn will be an neat resto. I may have to fabricate the end covers and pedestal.
