So on a whim, I needed a 9/16 thinwall as my others won't fit into the clearance I needed. Head to homers, check out the Milwaukee 3/8 and 1/2 - 9/16. The 1/2" is actually THINNER than their 3/8.

Be curious what other thinwalls are just as thin as this Milwaukee 1/2 I just grabbed. Need to lookup the Koken Zeal spec

I could probably have used a 14mm thin I have in my stash, but I wanted 6 pt and the 14mm thin I have is 12pt

Impact would be nice as I'll be using it on the impact driver....but no deal breaker if it's a chrome.

Was just suprised the 1/2 red was thinner than their 3/8 !

for special things, i wouldn't think twice about modifying a cheap socket to make it fit.. that is very odd to see a 1/2" thinner than a 3/8" too.

I had that same problem once before and my Cman were the thinnest walls in 1/4 drive.

As already recommended, Just grind down a cheapo 9/16 socket.

Not sure what you are dealing with but would a crows foot on an extension help with your socket clearance problem?

that is indeed a surprising find
My observation is the newer and shinier import sockets are plain chunky these days. IDK Milwaukee is a good source for sockets and wrenches. I reckon any old USA will be much slimmer. look at 1/4 drive up to 14mm.

FWIW sometimes you can replace w/ slimmer profile nuts to fit the same threads.

Snap on used to make an aviation socket with extra thin walls. I don't know if they
still do.
