The vise body looks similar to a Cole, but I don't think I've ever seen a Cole vise without a rotating bench mount.

I have no idea who made it, but my sister gave me the same model vise this morning. It might be a local brand as she lives only a few minutes from you in Westmont.

Weird! Is there a name on the vise where it would attach to a bench on the top of that area. I think mine says something there, but it's worn and painted over on mine. Thanks.

Is that a legless blacksmith vise?

I've had a Cole, that is not a Cole unless it's a different model.

I don't know for sure, but there were definitely some blacksmith vises made to bolt onto wagon tongues, etc, so it could be something along those lines...maybe for farrier type work where you need a portable solution regularly.
