Years ago I made a crossbar from 2 7/8" pipe to span my lift arms and try to lift a trailer. Didn't work in that instance (bigger trailer) but I finally got to use it on this little 2-horse bumper pull.

How did you connect the posts to the crossbar? I lol'd for a second because it looks like the pipe OD rests on the cylinder top....but I'm pretty sure that's not the case :)

I'm also curious if you calculated the intended weight, bending stress etc, or just felt the heft was about right for the job?

1 3/8" solid drops in where the lift pads would go.

No calcs, just used my judgement as a metalworker. If I'm wrong I'm the one who suffers.

I can raise the golf carts with standard lift pads. I have a ztr and made 2 brackets, one each end and simply use 2 arms.

I want to come up with something to lift my UTV and Zero Turn.

If you get the zero turn between the post's sideways you should be able to get 2 arms under the transmission on one side and 2 arms under the frame in the front. I have to use the pad extenders in the front . Works for me .

Pretty cool idea, I would trust it for sure. I want to make something for my zero turn and also my trailers.

I will say it's useless for servicing wheels on trailers as they wind up in no man's land between the arms. But would be great for springs, running wiring etc.

I needed to replace 3 rusting hinges on the rear tailgate of this horse trailer so it saved me untold trips from the creeper and allowed me to cut & weld while standing rather than lying on the creeper.
