Note: The Lowe's ones can be purchased with a $15 off $50 if you buy a few packets and go to renovopower for a code. So 3x15 + another item for $5, and then - $15 discount. Would be about $38 incl tax for 6 tubes.
I usually jump on Costco deals, but I've avoided these because every Feit LED bulb I've ever gotten has failed within a year. And then they play the semantics games by saying that the guarantee only applies to the diode itself and not the control board, which is what fries.
I've had about 20 Feit LED bulbs at my house in regular use, many of them for more than 3 years. Only one has failed and they replaced it immediately without even asking me to send the old one back.
Feit also makes most of the "Utilitech" bulbs sold at Lowes.
The Lowe's version (which someone later said may be made by Feit anyway), talks about working with some ballasts (listed on the instruction sheet which you can't see until you get home and open the package), and has instructions on how to bypass the ballast on light fixtures that require that.
Surely if you have nice fixtures and do the bypass, then you have effectively ''made'' a new LED shop light for $12? (assuming buying Lowe's with a $15 off $50 voucher)? That'll probably be the route I take.
I just picked up two Feit Electric 4' fixtures today $29.99 each at my local Costco (last ones in stock). The color temperature doesn't fit my taste, has a bit of a yellow tint. I prefer Daylight (5000K temperature). Sams Club is having a sale on the Honeywell 4' Shop Light (4500 Lumesn / 5000K) for $25 this Saturday. I don't know if they will be shipping them though. Otherwise I need to purchase the Lights of America 4' Shop Light (2-Pack) from them.
