I was in Costco today and saw these. I didn't buy though, as Lowe's have https://www.lowes.com/pd/Utilitech-2-Pack-32-W-Equivalent-Bright-White-T8-LED-Tube-Light-Bulbs/1000083433, which are 2000 lumens (Costco ones are 1700) and a few dollars cheaper. I have not tried either, so don't know which ones are best. I have a need to replace 6 tubes soon, so will likely go with one of these options soon enough.

Note: The Lowe's ones can be purchased with a $15 off $50 if you buy a few packets and go to renovopower for a code. So 3x15 + another item for $5, and then - $15 discount. Would be about $38 incl tax for 6 tubes.

Just an FYI, but the t8-sized LED tubes that fit in regular fluorescent fixtures are 2200+ lumens and cost < $10 each from Amazon.

Ditto, I bought the ones off amazon (hyperion), 1 went bad and they sent me a replacement right away, no questions asked.

- Are they ballast bypass?

- What is there efficiency?

I usually jump on Costco deals, but I've avoided these because every Feit LED bulb I've ever gotten has failed within a year. And then they play the semantics games by saying that the guarantee only applies to the diode itself and not the control board, which is what fries.

I've had about 20 Feit LED bulbs at my house in regular use, many of them for more than 3 years. Only one has failed and they replaced it immediately without even asking me to send the old one back.

Feit also makes most of the "Utilitech" bulbs sold at Lowes.

But I guess YMMV.

^^^^ Not the same, OP is referring to the Tube Only LEDs sold at Costco. Not the entire fixture.

I believe the tube only LEDs have been sub $20 (iirc $17) for over a year now. Nice product, excellent choice if you are retrofitting old fixtures.

The Lowe's version (which someone later said may be made by Feit anyway), talks about working with some ballasts (listed on the instruction sheet which you can't see until you get home and open the package), and has instructions on how to bypass the ballast on light fixtures that require that.

Surely if you have nice fixtures and do the bypass, then you have effectively ''made'' a new LED shop light for $12? (assuming buying Lowe's with a $15 off $50 voucher)? That'll probably be the route I take.

Check to see if the bulbs are single or dual end powered.

Single end powered (where one prong of the bulb is hot and one is neutral, both on the same side) are a pain in the *** to wire up.

Dual end powered (the prongs on one side are hot and the other are neutral) are much, much easier.

IIRC the Lowes / Sams club are single end powered.

Hyperikon (the leading brand on Amazon) sell both single and dual end powered.

I just picked up two Feit Electric 4' fixtures today $29.99 each at my local Costco (last ones in stock). The color temperature doesn't fit my taste, has a bit of a yellow tint. I prefer Daylight (5000K temperature). Sams Club is having a sale on the Honeywell 4' Shop Light (4500 Lumesn / 5000K) for $25 this Saturday. I don't know if they will be shipping them though. Otherwise I need to purchase the Lights of America 4' Shop Light (2-Pack) from them.

I'm still using the older T12 Ballasts, lol
