Hi Guys,

I'm Olivier, little French handyman, and this is my first thread after more than two years lurking this incredible forum. I really enjoy spending so many hours on GJ, learning so much, and give me verry good ideas.
I read hundreds of fascinating threads before having finally today the courage to throw me in the big bath and to present you my projet.

We built our housein 2005 and living in since 2006. The garage in an 2 cars attached-type, with a little, sory, a very tiny workshop. The garage is approximately 45 squares meters and the shop 7 Sqm.

But pictures are better than my school English words !
Coming soon...

Welcome GoldCar. Your English is far better than my French, and your garage looks well-organized and efficient. I like how well you've utilized the space that you have, and I'm sure that I am not alone.

I hosted all my pictures on Photobucket. Now they're extorting people for more money if you want third party hosting of your pictures for use on forums, etc.

I see a flaw in your cabinets, can you take better pictures of your cabinet doors? I believe it has something to do with those pictures on the door.

:bounce::bounce:

Welcome to the forum! As for the picture of the cabinet I'm just joking, but you can PM them to me! LOL

Hi Sakibba, I try to take pictures for you in the next days, promised.

It's raining this morning in the east of France, and my musicplayer loud Zac Brown Band in duet with James Taylor "colder weather" ... so I have no regrets to stay in the garage to clean it deep.

To finish my presentation I begin with a few pics...

From outside

I try to insert pics directly, I think it's much better for reader !

Hi,

This is the basement room which is going to welcome my workshop during a few weeks...

Before (in 2012), and like it looks today after moving my workshop tools and stuff.

Now it's only a big mess !

On the right side, behind, you can see the pool machinery.

Oli

Hi,

Now the shop is empty of all stuff.

You know what ? It's totally incredible what we can store in a so small place...

First job is to insulate the windows wall, the last who isn't.
second job, fill drill holes in the other walls.

Salut Morshane,

Merci j'avance petit à petit et rentre à l'instant... de la déchetterie !

Curious to see moving forward of your works...

I visit you trhead, your Combi is amazing, I like very much the trailer.

So, the basement is now my shop during works in the garage.
Since this morning I am searching everything. All tools in boxes, nothing at the right place, well It would be a miracle if I do not become crazy before the end of the project

But as Morshane says, it is sometime necessary to clean and sort out all stuff.

Here views of the temporary workshop completed.

Oh sorry Madison069 I forgot the calendars :bounce:

Hi everyone,

I present you my two cats, the first is a pretty little multicolor female, very affectionate, the second is a purebred British black cat. They are often both with me in the garage or in the workshop. Sorry the black one isn't cleaned for your expert eyes... doing better next time !

On the left side of the picture you can see the snow + salt damages, more and more important, winter after winter. The concrete is being dismantled under the 2 x four wheels.
I plan beginning of September to getting a floor with epoxy resin in the garage and a wood floor in the shop (cold foot !).

Your project is looking fantastic!!! Nothing like having an insulated garage and shop, makes working in it a pleasure. Keep the pictures coming and good luck with it.

Hello

After taking a several weeks to empty everything from garage and shop, it's now time to attack concretely the projet.

The smooth concret should be sanded this afternoon... Here a little test...

For memory, step 1 was empty all stuff, step 2 was insulate the last wall who wasn't since we living into the house.

Hi GJ Guys,

After sanding all the floor concrete, today was time to application of the primary.
Tomorrow first layer of epoxy...

Today I also decided to make a solid wood floor in the shop. I had first of all decided to put a parquet in laminate, but it seems to me too fragile, in case of fall of hammer or other tool for example...
If anybody has an opinion on that question ? Laminate or real wood !

Back after a few crazy weeks !

Well, little things happened in the garage and work moves forward slowly but surely.

Painting walls, repair of power sockets and light switches...

As you can see it was it was snowing a little in Alsace, so the new resin ground was dirty for the first time !
