There's not much to say, as I've had no opportunity for use, but here are the guts.

The only surprise was T7 torx screws.

Well built in Taiwan and only $23. If this works the way I hope, I'm going to be unloading a lot of ratchets in favor of the 1/4 and 1/2.

Last thing- these aren't on the website yet.9383b72999f27c7d20e674ef85992b22.jpge85dfd5755ef749bd8ea9540074fc370.jpg706a4e648b47a04adbf37ee0be55e574.jpg5bf34794d0c97346bdb6d46683a59315.jpgc798da229477b71e8d70649b64538be4.jpg7368c46d7ced2473d25d982fc36a23ee.jpgaca2702de0a1256a1d4e2d2701d38374.jpg16c01a901bbdcfec30b12894ac0358b6.jpg38f226b5d6322b90aa1f2dcc0b99dacd.jpg

Apologies for the not-so-focused shots. Fussy phone camera.

Also- don't mind the smudges. This thing has a mirror finish.

Yeah, looks like the older danaher made branded Craftsman, Matco, Allen, NAPA, etc. pawl gear but with more & finer teeth along with a screw retained gear cover. I wonder why they went this way instead of the floating pawl that is used by most others. perhaps old is new again :dunno:

I can't tell for sure from the photo but, how many teeth engage? perhaps 5? Let us know how it holds up.

yeah the T8s on every other Taiwan 3/8 ratchet is overkill

ever look look at O'reillys Powertorque ratchets? theyre pretty neat being low profile QR and a cool stubby, but you wont be taking them apart (sealed).

Looks like a pretty cool deal. What's with all the markings on the cover. Is that just shadowing from the grease and gear or are they actual indentations / wear. Pic #3

Ive got the 1/2 inch , use professionally. I have been surprised by the quality for the cost of this ratchet. I was getting something from Autozone ,saw it and said why not. I figured if it wasnt that good , I would use it at home. Found instead it hangs with the big boys nicely. Its got a good feel to it , nice action and decent backdrag. My only complaint would be the handle section is a bit on the thin and short side for a 1/2 ratchet.

Might have to look into those and sell off the HF pros I have. I been favoring the duralast stuff alot lately. Seems far better then the HF stuff for the same price to a few bucks more but well worth it. If these are just as well built as my duralast 36t ratchets are then they will hold up very well.

I literally use my Duralast 3/8" ratchet with a 3 foot cheater bar to break really bad stuff loose and it has never had a problem. Crazy good value. I would never buy it for a everyday use ratchet because the backdrop is so tight and the swing arch is awful.

I was anticipating T8; just sharing what I found.

I like the 3/8 enough I'll sell some of my 1/4 and 1/2 ratchets so I can get the other two Duralast models.

I don't have an O'Reilly's within 100 miles, which is odd, because they run commercials in the Philly area.

Do you have the regular length handle 1/2" or the monster 18" flex head?

Duralast has some pretty good tools and maybe 50% of what I have been buying in the last year is duralast

I have the 3/8 in 1/4 body and the 18" 1/2 flex head and they are good for the money

I rarely visit this brands store, I will venture for a look at the 1/4 and 1/2 flex ratchets soon.

No problem. I've gotten so much from this forum I give back on the rare occasion I can.

Be sure to pop the ratchets out of there packaging and check their function; I was going to grab a 1/4 with the 3/8, but the paw barely grabbed in one direction.

No wear, just grease.

Not sure what kind of goo the factory put in there, but I'll be cleaning it in favor of super lube.
