If anyone is thinking of using Crete Heat Panels, I would recommend them. I'm building a 42X48 post beam garage with radiant floor heat and just finished laying down the panels. For a person working alone you can not beat the simplicity of the system. I know there are far less expensive options out there but I didn't want to waste time and money so this was my best option. I will update this post once I lay down the pex.

I guess I never completed the initial post. I was able to bend up the rebar hairpins and install them in the posts yesterday. I also installed 1/3 of the pex tubing. The panels make this process incredibly easy for 1 person to complete the pex installation. I built my on pex in-coiler for less than $10 in parts and it has worked great. Here are some more pictures.

Sean - creteheat product looks interesting. I have never seen the hair pins you installed except for steel framed buildings, what is the thought on what they do and why install them for a post frame building?

The hairpins are used to tie the posts into the slab. This helps prevent uplift as well as movement and separation between the posts and the slab. I finished the pex manifold installation today and pressurized the lines. I also began to lay down the wire reinforcement mesh.

I first saw this foam system about 15 years ago at a ready mix supplier, but I can honestly say I've never seen it installed. Nice work so far!

I watched a rerun of a recent This Old House episode and they used these. Didn't say what they cost though. May I ask you a ballpark figure on what they cost? Are they priced in a package of "X" sheets per package? As I recall they were 2ft x 4ft?

They come in a package of 8. Each 4x2 Panel was $11.95. I used 252 panels for my 42X48 building. Not cheap but easy to use. I finished the pex install as well as the welded wire mat and hope to have the floor poured soon.

$3000!!!! Wow! No wonder i didn't look at this when i did mine. At least you got some insulation out of it. Looks good though.

$3K!!!! I can buy lots of tie wraps for $3,000. Lots of money left over for insulation and/or concrete. But....different strokes for different folks.
