In this continuing screwdriver series aimed at the home shop one should never overlook the fine qualities of SK screwdrivers. When the cry goes up I need a good quality screwdriver, then look no further for older used/ or new SK screwdrivers.

Tip#1 When hunting through those pawn shop buckets, or garage sales. etc. , start looking for those used SK screwdrivers. I find most times that they can be had for under a $1.00 and up to two or three dollars for a good used screwdriver.
The older series either came in the blue/or green with a white stripe in color.

Tip#2 For the busy mechanic on the go and not having the time to make those hunting trips, you can buy them on the web. Somewhat older you can still find them in the dark green color in the hard plastic, or the newer models in the softer rubber handle.

Good luck and happy hunting...

I wish the old green/white were a bit easier to find, at least here in SoCal they don't turn up in usable condition too often. I've found a couple solid green, and less than half a dozen of the green/white, and a couple of those are missing parts like the bit driver cap.

Can't say exactly why I like them, but I do tend to grab one before others.

I've got one of the solid green handled ones that's a thin flat head and super long. Has come in handy a bunch of times. Found it used on the Snap-On truck for like $5. Worth it.

I like the solid green in the middle. Those are some of my favorites, wish SK would slim down the grips to the older Facom style.
