Offset cylinder head wrench

Hi Yall
I’m in the process of engine strip down and found this tool really useful for removing the head bolts.A socket wouldn’t work as the nuts are offset.Part number s8663a,SO 11/16.

Torque adapter. Intended for assembly so you can use a torque wrench on the nut. As you have discovered, they are useful for disassembly, too.

They have been made in many different opening sizes, heights, and offsets in order to accomodate different applications. The one common design element is that the square drive is always located drirectly above the working opening.

I was lucky as the last 3 engines I worked on only required sockets to remove/reinstall/replace head bolts. Good to know though there's something out there for offset head bolts. Thanks

Back in the golden olden days; Those wrenches were used on certain engines to re-torque head bolts after running them up to operating temperature.. Times have changed..

funny you should bring it up. there was one just listed on Ebay that's got the box end cut out like a line wrench. looks like it was made that way. :headscrat
