Hey guys I have another weird question.
I spend a bunch of time using a blast cabinet and wondered about the ergonomics of the glove hole placement and common use.
You might have to use your cabinet to answer because I never thought about it much until today.

How often do you stick your arms in the cabinet past your elbows?

Do you spend the majority of you time with you elbows at the glove mount? Or with your arms in past elbow? Naturally, at least for Me, it is awkward to have my arms in past elbow. So what am I doing with 28" gloves.

I am seriously thinking about modifying the
Location of my hand hole to be up slightly higher. I can't raise the cabinet any higher because the window will be out of sight.

I Just picked up another cabinet about 10 days ago. Got it all going the way I like but those holes just don't like my arms in there past the elbow.

Thanks

When I got my TP tools blaster home about 30 years ago, the first thing I did was raise it up. Made a frame of 2 X 4's on edge, that 3-1/2" made a huge difference in the comfort of using the cabinet.

I rarely stick my arms in as far as my elbows. Most times I am cleaning up lawnmower blades and it isn't necessary to stick my arms way inside.

After several hours of use, I decided to move the arm holes up. Called Econoline and they would not sell the arm hole rings that the gloves clamp to. So I tried Trinco and they sold me 8" diameter rings, which are bigger than Econoline.

Now I can put my arms all the way in the gloves to reach further while maintaining Vision.

First picture is a Trinco cabinet that I saw up in Indy. Notice how this cabinet has higher glove holes. This cabinet and my econoline are both 40x40 cabinets.

I couldn't find a gasket material for the arm holes that would cushion the outside edge of the hole. Tried Google, McMaster, and came up with nothing. Ended up buying childproofing for table edges. Not crazy about the color. It might fail but wanted to try it.

Called **** blast and their holes are 16" on center. My Econoline was 14" and my Cyclone was 18". Ended up going with 16" on center and it worked out great for me.

Here is the foam childproofing that I bought from Lowes.
I used the supplied double sided tape on the side of the cabinet. For the arm holes I applied 10lb rated 3m double sided tape on the foam first then worked it around in the hole. After the inside hole was taped I slightly folded the edge of foam away from cabinet face and pulled the tape cover off.
Was not the easiest things to put on but they turned out ok. Feels much better on the arms.e71401158386a77fda573d1e37c133e3.jpg791069d3c17f07e0d61e55817fddc837.jpg
