The Bird House (16x24) in Montreal, Canada

Hello Folks!

1st of all, let me introduce my self! My name is Dom and I'm living a little bit outside Montreal in Canada. PLEASE, my apologize for my BAD ENGLISH! I try my best and if you guys have hard time to understand me, PLEASE just let me now! . This year, is an important year for my self! One of my biggest dream will become true in a month!

Yes! Since forever I dreamed to have my own garage with my house! After a lot of research, me and my wife decide to make the move now!. We begin with a little garage 10x20. I own a 1995 Firebird witch is a long car (almost 17ft long). But after some serious discussions, I won the challenge to change the mind of my wife to hive a bigger garage! So, we decide to go with the biggest size that's our property and city law will let go!

A 16x24 as been officially bought for Christmas 2017 (Dec 21). Now we have to make a lot of change in our courtyard.

My plan on the garage ares to be my mancave! So my toolbox, workbench, cars, parts would all go in. I plan to insulate the walls and ceiling with R20 Fiberglass since my trust will be 2x6. As a heater, I plan to choose a "Dragon" style witch consist of a ceiling unit with 5000W Heat.

There is a member here named Jon with a 16x24 who own a Vegas... I would like to thanks him because He was my inspiration on the size of the garage and his picture help me a lot to make our final decision!

I don't have any pics as now, but my plans on this tread is to share you all the steps and if I have questions about my build, I hope you guys would be able to help me out! Thanks a lot!

I can't believe that a 16x24 structure would be the largest allowed by the city. That's not hardly enough room to put two cars in even if it's totally empty when they go in.

The problem is our house is in the deep back of our land. And the law from the city ares mades that's I can't build a garage in the front of my house. The garage must not pass the front of the house.

So the only place where I can build it, is on the side of the house. I juste have enough space for a 16x24. Its **** cause, is the house was build more in front of the street, I would have the choice of a 30x50 if I wanted... Been said, We take a look of selling the house and looking for something else, but since we almost finish to pay off this house, we decide to keep the house!

Merci beaucoup! Damn!! Now I understand why peoples won't reply haha! Dunno what happen here! I did a fews test in the "Test" section... And it work great... Well, I will try again and see! For those who don't see my pictures, please tell me! Cause, before you telling me you won't be able to see thoses, I was able to see thems.... Weird!
