So I picked up this monster and I have a few questions for others that have one.
I had the older model of this with out the One Key and my main complaint was that with only 2 power settings it was either set on Kill or slow slow slow with no power, basically finger tight lug nuts.
So I bought the 2873-20 with the One Key system. Hoping to be able to fine tune the torque. Maybe not within a pound or two but maybe around a 10 lb window. I’m not trying to eliminate a torque wrench but just be able to run lugs and other nuts up to 10-15 lbs below torque and then finish them with a wrench.
So on to the problem. The Gun has a lug nut setting but it starts at 80-130 lbs
That’s a little too high for me. Would like something in the 50-60 lbs range.
It also has a custom torque setting but it is just a scale of 1-20. I looked but I can’t find a tech sheet that shows what that might be in ft lbs.
Anyone have one or maybe just their favorite settings as a start?

Let off a little before it stops,I am within 1/8 turn almost every time without any electronic aids.

I didn't realize the OneKey allowed for customization. Thought it was just for contractors tracking how much a device is used and what not.

Mine must have been a dud then I could have let it hammer for a half hour and it would have never hit 100 lbs. It was a pretty early one and I remember at the time people sending them back because of the low torque of the 1st setting. But I needed it mainly for the ability to remove stuf and kept it.
I was just hoping with the new one the torque settings would be more useful then just going by feeling. That make the one key tool just basically lost tool finder and not something I really need.

Let me say first I don't one key nor to even have time to play with it if did.

But I have been following it sinc they released it because I am hoping repeatable accuracy may be attainable and maybe someday I would like to have the feature

Obviously they show almost 50 ft lbs in the offered range selections alone it all being dependent on fastener size/ thread pitch/ duration of impact/ and RPM/IPM

Plus friction from the fastener itself lubed/dry etc.

So IMO I don't really think it that's accurate a system to give exacting numbers with out trial and error on your part. Now you will get lower values if like you lower the max speed lets say at full trigger pull

And does yours have the count feature? That is supposed to aid in repeating torque values with the same size fasteners. Because since it impacts so quickly by eye, hand ear one would be hard pressed to constantly repeat values

I would start out slow using some fasteners held like in a vise checking with a torque wrench. Eventually I would think you find a range you like.

As for that 2763 mode making torque values RTR (real tool reviews) went thru the motions proving it could do 100ftlbs but only attainable with a course thread 5/8 bolt.

I have played around like that and smaller bolt/nuts wont tighten up that much go figure.

I have the 1 sec stop feature on my 2754 I find it highly variable as long as it sense motion it will keep banging away and NOT shutoff.

This could prove to be an interesting thread

I think the only way we will know what 1-20 equals in torque is to test each one. I plan on using a huge bolt I have and clamp it in my vise. Then just go through each setting.

I statred on a 1/2-20 bolt.

Setting 1 seems to be close to 40.

Setting 3 around 50

Slow mode on the 2763 (gen 1) with 5 rattles (easy to count) on a M14x1.5 lug bolt always without fail gets me like a 1/4 or 1/3 turn away from 90 lb/ft.

Pretty nuts that it's a struggle to do the same with all that technology on the new model.

Yes I’m thinking I am going to get a stud from NAPA and set up jig to test a lug nut.
I’m not sure but a bigger bolt might not give the same results and I mainly want to know for lugs

My jeep lugs are 1/2-20. I’m trying to find the setting that gets me closest to 90ft lb.
