annoyed with triple square...PART

Someone suggested a set of VIM triple squares on amazon for like $30. I didnt get around to ordering them right away and they sold out. So i found exact same VIM 11 piece set on Ebay for a few dollars more with free shipping. So i ordered them

Well my package arrived today, Ebay seller drop shipped from amazon

well to my suprise there were 2 blow molded cases in the box.. hmmm

these are not VIM, but rather 2 sets of triple square sockets, one shallow, one deep.. Made by Vector tools? Not real happy with the seller, advertising one thing and shipping another, even though there are more sockets than what i ordered, Still not the quality i would have liked.

So at this point, i am trying to decide what to do about this situation.

Amazon will always side with you! Return based on the item did not match description and amazon will provide the shipping label.

I have a set of VIMs and they are awesome. With triple squares being an internally driven fastener, I'm leary of using no name brand tools for this application.

Well this was ordered from a ebay listing, seller just ordered some cheaper stuff and had it drop shipped to me from an Amazon seller

After thinking about it for a little bit since it was drop shipped from Amazon it may not be the eBay sellers fault it maybe the seller that he went through on Amazon either way I think I may try to contact the eBay seller and let him know what's going on and go from there

I would recommend always contacting the seller before going through paypal. Half the time vendors will just tell you to keep what you have and they'll send a replacement.

I have sent a message to the seller letting them know what happened. As I stated before, I don't know if it was a mistake on the sellers part or on the part of the Amazon seller they used. For now I will give the seller the benefit and see what they have to say

Pretty sure the VIM set I have is made in China too. The cases in your picture look better made too with a metal hinge pin. The hinge on mine is just a thin plastic that is part of the two half's.

Everything I have from VIM is made in Taiwan. Their cases aren't particularly impressive but their bits are.

This seems to be more of what you actually received. The first link you posted has pictures from the Neiko set. That is the kind of nonsense that unfortunately permeates these online sellers of Asian tools. It wouldn't surprise me if the seller you bought from doesn't even know the difference.

Hopefully he will make it right. They are probably fine but you wanted VIM and should end up with VIM.

that looks to be spot on what i got, same seller and everything. Im going to give the seller a while to respond and see what they say. While these seem to be on par with the quality that you would get from buying a tool at a parts store, and i have plenty of those that get the job done. I would really like to have more quality, especially in the smaller sizes.

Just have to wait for the seller to respond

I would send them back, triple square, spline, xzn.... can strip very easily with badly made bits.

My bits are Mac, but Facom sell the same stuff for a bit cheaper;
