James restored an old Craftsman drill press for me.

The motor died before I met James. I replaced it with a similar Craftsman motor, but it was as rough as the original motor.

If you look closely, you can see James added a disconnect for the motor wiring, so that it's easier to remove the motor for service. I didn't ask for it, but I like it! Very nice touch!

There was a lot of work that went into the press that you can't see. The grease had turned to muck. He straightened the spindle to reduce runout and replaced the bearings. The motor purrs and she is quiet. It will have a prime spot in my new workshop.

I chose the color. Even my wife said the drill press was beautiful! Maybe I can convince her to let me keep it in the house.....

Since I was moving out of state and I had a lot of tools and materials, we bartered for a portion of the work. I believe he charged a fair price and I recommend him to others who want a tool restored. He was working on other tools when I picked up the drill press. They all looked great.
