I'm putting a design together for a 40x26 3-car with a 12.5' ceiling. I used an evaluation version of the Visual Lighting software to put together what I think is a pretty decent lighting design. The picture below shows the type and position of the fixtures, and the numbers represent footcandles at 3' off the floor. The fixtures I chose are also readliy available:

2 Lamp T8 HO ($78.14)

4 Lamp T8 HO ($140.00)

I've done quite a bit of research on here and these fixtures seem to be highly recommended because they have a superior grade ballast that won't hum.

I'd love some feedback! Have I screwed anything up?

Good plan.....

Except....

It seems the lights above the garage doors at the openings will be blocked if your door is up.....

I would put those on a seperate sw....

If it was me, I would be using 4 switches......off of 2 breakers.

In my shop, the lights are set in 4 runs of 3 4' duals. At the door end, the door is offset in the wall. I left two in the normal orientation, one of those over the door because it lit the space well with the door down. The last one I turned parallel to the door so there would be light on that side with the door open. Something to think about anyway. But my door is only about 12" from the ceiling.
