I heard J.S. technologies makes them, and they are similar to the craftmans/KD torque wrenches. Ive used these before, and I think they have a few little "things" about them that the craftsmans dont have. The markings are nicer and easier to read, the locking ring is metal not plastic, and it winds up smoother. You can get them pretty cheap over at thetoolwarehouse.net, about 30$ less than the craftsman version My dad has an older SK torque wrench (right before Facom) and That thing is showing essentially dead on even in the lowest part of its range compared to the proto (well below top 80%). So the older one has held up, and I havent had a problem with the newer ones which have been in service for about 2 years now. Just take care of them ya know?

I can't say about a new one, but if reputation counts, I could have gotten anything when I bought mine twenty some years ago, but opted for the S-K - 1/2 inch drive, 200 ft/lb, real good tool. Had the calibration checked about ten years ago, and it was still spot on; this after some ten years of fairly constant, sometimes hard use. Were I to need another, I'd look for an S-K.

I also have the 25-250 version. Made in USA, and cheaper than Craftsman for this same equivalent range. Comes with a case and wasn't much more than the Husky made in Taiwan ****. My other torque wrenches in the lower ranges are Craftsman.

One thing you have to remember about torque wrenchs. They are a precision inst., you have to handle them with care. I worked at several Nukes and I think they checked all their torque tools every month. If the tool is off you can cause severe damage to what ever you're working on. The cheapies that you get at HF are a total waste of money.
