As the title states, please post any deals or steals you find on Makita power tools or OPE, corded or cordless, on this aggregated thread.

I searched before posting, and found 2 Milwaukee permathreads (one, called Milwaukee Power Tools Permathread, currently on the first page of Hot Deals, and the other, called 2019 Milwaukee Power Tools Permathread, now on the second page of Hot Deals)... yet not one Makita permathread for the last 20 pages. Where's the love? What is the deal?

Surely I'm not the only GJ'er rockin the LXT, so let's hear about some steals and deals on the teal.

Other than used due to red and yellow tunnel vision, I don't think there are any real deals. People who know they are the best buy them, everyone else doesn't care. Regardless, I'll be watching, I want a light.

here is something to get this started. I dont really follow makita prices, but assuming that HD has pricing in line with everyone else, this appears to be a good deal.

google express (a buying service that requires you to log into a google account) is currently offering a 20% discount on your first order. HD is one of the sellers they have listed. as I learned from searching for Red tools, the listings here are a subset of what is offered on the HD website. make sure you check the web site, on some (rare) occasions I have found that the price thru express was slightly higher. OTOH, shipping is free over 15$ on HD's store on express, while it is 49$ on their web site.

anyway, enough with all that. go to: https://express.google.com scroll down a page or two, and select the HD logo to go to their storefront. the search bar at the top of the page is limited to the HD store, search for makita.

good luck, hope this helps.

You missed one important detail on the 20% off offer, the max is 20$ unfortunately. :(

+1 LXT for almost 10 years now!

Most of my lxt tools have come from eBay. Seems there are several sellers that buy the packages and then sell the components a lot cheaper than MSRP. I'm interested in a new impact driver and watching for a bargain.

I got my first set as a wedding present in September 2009. The batteries are still going, as are all the tools. I can't argue with that.

If I were starting over again, I'd be torn between Milwaukee and Makita. I like the LXT system, but there's no comparison between the M12 and Makita's 12V systems, and having combined chargers would be awfully nice. Instead, I've got both LXT and M12.

MAKITA: Teal Deals & Steals Permathreadl.

Like the title. Subscribed.

FWIIW, I get my best deals from a local tool dealer who has a biannual customer appreciation sale. 20% off everything and you can stack that on top of Makita promotional deals.

It's not a Makita deal per se but they always have a rep there so they support it to some degree. Might be worth finding out who the Makita rep is for your area and seeing if they know of something similar.

I find that most of Makita's promotional deals always include a dual rapid charger and more batteries. Their best deals rarely involve stand alone bare tools. Since I'm up to eleven LXT batteries I plan to buy more bare tools through these sales.

Good point.

As much as I dislike shopping on eBay now (used to like it 10 years ago), I will admit that I did find my dual port rapid charger on eBay for about $45.00, brand new, no package. When I bought it, already over 1,147 were sold, with more available.

It is kind of puzzling how someone ends up with literally thousands of Makita chargers to sell, with no packaging, but the charger does appear genuine, included the Makita manual, and seems to work great.

Great title and thread idea, and I'm looking forward to seeing what the community can come up with.

I've generally had the best luck with Craigslist for entire sets when someone switches brands and eBay for batteries and bare tools.

If someone is in the market for a blower and needs more batteries, this seems like a decent way to go about it: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0765BRWRN/?tag=atomicindus08-20
The price has been relatively stable at 329 for a while according to CCC, but it did drop to 299 just a couple days ago so it might do that again soon. I know HD had a big selloff of these things and some people got them for a penny, but for the rest of us, it's not a bad option.

Mandres, I have a couple extra impact drivers sitting around if you're interested. Also spare chargers, and a few other bare tools.

I don't think anybody in their right mind would pay $329 for a makita blower..when yu can get the ego blower top line reviewd for under $180 with battery and charger from home depot.

The dual port rapid charger on eBay for $45.00 is a deal. Actually, it's a steal, given that same charger sells for $169 at my local lumber yard.

Another deal, but not necessarily a steal, is the Makita LXT spiral cut cut out tool for $85 at Mass Depot, normally $99 to $129, depending on store and time of year.

By and large, people who buy Makita seem to make that decision based on quality, performance, features, and long term value... not price, so deals and steals on the teal are few and far between.

But they are out there. It will just take all of us collaborating together to find them.

Bishop tools on eBay is always a good dealer to look at for pricing on Makita stuff. He always seemed to be real quick at getting the new tools up too.

Bought that 6 piece set for my son $299 at Home Depot maybe a month before Christmas. Next day they had bumped it up to $379 or something.

Bought a nice little 18v drill set XFD131 at Home Depot a couple days ago for (yellow sticker) $79.00. Included the brushless XFD13 drill, 3.0ah battery, charger, and case. Didn't really need it but couldn't pass it up. More details with photos here in the Home Depot deals thread, post #157

I think this is a pretty good deal. Supposedly it's the last gen top of the line brushless compact drill. The new one is slightly shorter with a different chuck, but this is about half the price. Bought one and I really like it. It's well balanced and comfortable with all the power I'm ever going to need from a cordless.

https://www.ebay.com/p/Makita-Brush...-Ion-LED-BL-XFD06/8011555277?iid=223347374026

I also picked up the brushless 6.5" circ saw and it kicks serious ***. I may never use my old corded skil again. I made a bunch of plunge cuts into 1" plywood subfloor, not a single complaint. It was from eBay too, paid about $90 for it.

If anyone finds a deal on the LC1230 dry slow cut chop saw...I'd like to have one for some projects this year.

What’s the best deal on a track saw? I’d prefer the cordless with track for 8ft sheets.

If you look in the Makita addiction thread you'll see that FTWingRiders got the new AWS cordless track saw for under $400 with the 55" track.

I think in the Home Depot Deals thread there was a screen grab of a deal for the non-AWS saw with batteries and charger for $250. At the time there was supposedly still some floating around but I can't image they still are.
