Started a 30x50 attached garage we’ve been planning forever! Wanted to show off some pics! A little background. Mostly do Motocross and custom bikes up here in the great white north. A lot of small engine repair as well. Definitely needed a bigger space, and the fact that its close to home is a bonus. The wife really wanted an attached garage as she just wanted to be able to park her vehicle when cold out and just walk into the house. Local bylaws state we cant have our garage bigger then our house, so 1500sq feet on a 1677 sq foot house. 12' tall walls and 3 10x10 OH doors.

Plan is to put an 5.3 LS and 4 speed into the truck, but that might need to be next winter. Once the shops done I have enough work to keep me going till summer.

I have a question. I am putting a landing in where the garage goes into the house. WHat do you do to support the legs on the concrete. Do they just sit on the concrete? Need anchors or anything?

Awesome garage ;)

Regarding your landing, I'm sure the legs sitting on the concrete will be okay as long as the whole structure is built correctly. Now if you are worried about moisture wicking up into them, you can use a sealer to stop it from happening.

Could use a pressure treated 2x sleeper with a sill gasket underneath that, then attach the legs to the sleeper. Same treatment as the exterior walls, will outlast you and I!

I'd anchor bolt through the sleeper into the slab too. Don't mess around with stairs, even if it's just simple ones. You don't know when it might be 2 guys, a large safe (or heavier) and a dolly going up those stairs...

Well I have run out of budget haha. Here she stands as it is for a bit. Already have some work in there. Just finishing the overhead doors. Will play with the light placement eventually. Interior finishing is just going to have to wait.

Sorry about the mess, but there was a TON of moving stuff around. Probably 70% of the walls are done. It’s starting to look better!

Got some used Vic west agtuf for free. Spent time cleaning it and trying to make hole line up but it would have been quite a while before i finished it otherwise
