Paint the foam on inside of O-door?

I thought I saw this asked here already, but I can't find it.

I want to paint the inside of my insulated overhead doors.

They got pretty nasty while I didn't have heat or lights and the spiders went nuts eating and pooping all down them.

Plus the color is pretty nasty next to my nice metal walls.

So, can the foam be sprayed or will it melt from chemicals in paint?

It does have some type of plastic cover over the foam, like vinyl.

I think I'm going to do gray to match the upcoming gray hellfire floor coating.

I dont have any good pics, just this one.

Most metal doors can be painted with latex paint, but the interior, if not metal, may require some testing. Should be stable with latex but may scratch easily. I would do a couple of small test sports, with spray can and latex. Then go with what gives you the best results.
Or you may be able to cover the vinyl with preprinted coil stock.

Should be vinyl back insulation,it does not hold up to paint well. You'll get it coated, but it will crack and flake off. I would recommend getting some pre-painted aluminum coil like Hot Rod suggested. A place that sells gutter stock should have what you need. Steel would work too, but would add a fair bit of weight over aluminum. I think that would hold up the best in the long run.

Some of the stains seem to be permanent, but yes, washing would be easier.

I was hoping to change the yellowish-white color too, its just drab and annoying.

I have some coil stock, i'll see if I an slip a piece in there.

Inside of my doors I used foil backed insulation. About 1/4" thick, easy to cut and install.

FRP is ~$32 per 4x8 sheet. This stuff might work as well and is less at ~$22. Not sure if it can be painted..

Door is already insulated and there is not much room for anything else.

I did slip a piece of coil stock in there pretty easily, so that might work.

Have to check the price.

I might even do the trim around and above the door with gray now that I think about it.

The white coil stock I have is pretty yellow too.

Just checking prices at lowes but it would be $1.48/sq ft vs. $1.00 for FRP and $0.69 for the polywall.

My bad, I thought your guys were talking about the thin insulated panels.

Im not familiar with FRP, I'll have to check that out.
