At least what I was told today by HF store in Seattle area. -

#93274 HF 5 hp w the Italian ABAC pump is supposedly the "Normal" stocked one now.

That is the exact same as the Belaire unit for around $300 more.

Was told the Chinese 3 radial cylinder is discontinued.

Again, this is what I was told.. Do your own doublechecking.

Happy Days are here Again !!

I'm sure someone will get really excited about this terrific news.... But I already own a compressor.... Does nothing for me.... To each his own...

Thanks. :)

It does nothing for you, yet you felt it necessary to comment twice.

You must be incredibly bored.

I am just posting because I want to get more posts.

Well, I was curious about the compressor, but no pictures or links, so I figured why not make a comment that means nothing to anyone. Then I figured I could tell people that Quincy makes a really nice compressor for a lot more money.

I'm not sure, but isn't this the same air compressor that is been discussed here and elsewhere around the Internet for several years?

It seems by most accounts,( if it's the same one). it is a very good air compressor but since it's coming from Harbor freight might be why it's receiving a tepid response here.

I put it on my "mayb"e list, but I'm still three years behind of upgrading the electricity to the garage.

Probably is.

That'a why it's big news.

Probably true.

I continually find that many on Forums many don't pay attention when they read.

After reading "HF" their brain went to sleep... somewhat understandable.

I'm not aware of any other HF item sooo un chineezy as this.

I do believe this is the same compressor that received the many positive reviews on GJ and elsewhere in the past. I almost purchased one myself back when they were the only HF 5hp model offered, but I decided to go with a 5hp Quincy for the warranty factor. I believe the HF compressor warranty is only 90 days, though I know there has always been an option to purchase an extended warranty. My Quincy at the time of purchase in 2012 had a 5yr warranty as long as an oil and filter warranty kit was purchased and registered with Quincy at time of compressor purchase. Plus, parts for the Quincy will always be available.

Though I’m not in need of a compressor now, thanks for posting! I’m sure your thread will help many new buyers who want this specific model number!

I think that IMC compressor has been available right along. It or something similar is sold under Bellaire and a number of names. HF, supposedly has the best price. The 3 cylinder was briefly offered as an alternate number for the same price but it was a single stage that maxed out at 145 psi, I think, but HF called it a 2 stage. They are not the most reliable about specs, either by intent or sloopyness. You have to be very careful with them when there are multiple numbers and major differences between them, like in this case.

The full company name is ABAC/American IMC located in Rock Hill, SC. They make the HF and for other companies. They also sell under their own brands. Google it and you will see how much stuff is theirs.
