I know they did on standards. I bought a large set back in 2005. It included 6 and 12 point for 3/8 drive, and 12 point for 1/4 inch drive.

Just did a clean/inventory last Saturday and had to replace a few missing sockets, hence it’s fresh on my mind.

I have some in one of those mechanics kits, I would assume they sold them independently

My year 2000 catalog only lists 6pt shallow and deep sockets in 1/4" drive metric but does have both 6 and 12 pt for SAE.

I have a couple of sets of metric 1/4" drive shallow and deep but those are all 6pt

Same goes for my SAE, 2 sets of 6pt though I do have one rail with 3/16"-1/2" in 12pt shallow too

This comes up now and then, the answer is they made a few a long time ago, but I've never seen them, some say they have some. They are very rare, it would be neat if someone could post a pic of the ones they have to show the unicorn exists. People must want them to solve their OCD problems of having them to go with their SAE set, it's not worth trying to track them down. I have the SAE set and I'm not going to bother trying to find any of the metric.
