It’s more of a tender than a charger. It would take most of a day to charge a dead battery. Noco makes some higher level models for more money that can charge much faster. I would be tempted by one of those — the g7200 or G15000.
I have used a 3.5 amp Ctek charger as my primary for many years. Yes, it takes sometimes the better part of two days to charge a nearly dead Group 65 battery, but a slow charge rate is easier on batteries. The lower amp chargers are also great maintainers. Eventually I did add the 7 amp Ctek to my stable for the 12v supply feature when changing batteries in newer cars so I don’t lose settings. I have purchased 4 Ctek chargers in the past 15 years, my first 3300 model had the button go bad after 14 years, my 7200 has been going strong for about 8 years. The other two were purchased in the last 18 months.
I’m planning to add a pair of this type charger (one per battery permanently installed) when I get the engine swap done in the Bronco. This deal on the Noco looks appealing as it’s half price of the Ctek currently, but I have a hard time getting past that first page of bad reviews where 3 of the 5 are terrible. That picture in the reviews of the burned Noco doesn’t inspire confidence. Compare that to Ctek where the first page of reviews are all 5 star. Looking at some “Noco vs Ctek” threads it seems like most people end up preferring Ctek. Ctek is also the rebranded OEM charger for Porsche, BMW, Audi, etc. I have no dog in this fight, only what I’ve read and my personal experience with Ctek and never having owned a Noco. I’ll probably order one of these to see how it works.
