Once again, the annual Garage Journal Garage Sale thread generated more than 6,000 posts of fine treasures and regular junk found at garage sales, estate sales, flea markets, second hand shops, and sometimes just free on the side of the road. Some of the finds generated a congratulatory "You ****!" from fellow posters. Others contributed to the thread through sheer volume.

As the ceremonial thread "host" this year, I have reviewed the posts and am nominating the above 10 pickers as finalists for Picker of the Year! If you want to review their finds for the year, see this post on the Garage Sale thread.

The winner will get this dubious contraption that I cobbled together from my own sale finds and other leftover junk in my garage. Yes, it plugs in, lights up, and measures "How much do you ****?" of anyone pushing the button. For the winner, it will be "Major Suckage!"

This poll will close in seven days. In the unlikely event of a tie, I will randomly select a winner from the leaders by drawing used estate sale entry numbers from a hat. :bounce:

Good luck!

Make sure you vote via the poll at the top of the thread. Any votes here in the comments section won't count.

Congrats to Private Lugnutz. Or is it Major Suckage now? You well deserve the award, as did lots of guys for their nice finds and consistent participation this year. Thanks for the votes all, that was fun to watch.

Bomber, it was cool to see the snippet of that trophy in action. We all know Lugz will display it proudly.

Haha. Good one. But I like it down here at the bottom of the motor pool totem pole! :) (Sorry I missed this earlier, My Able Neck-and-Neck Contender.)

Too bad all my scores come at the pawnshop
The Garage Sale Thread accepts ALL finds from any source - and I mean any, i.e., garage sales, yard sales, estate sales, flea markets, pawn shops, on-line (CL, etc), the junkyard, and even free, from the side of the road - except new tools and stuff from commercial brick-and-mortar stores, and has done so since the inaugural Garage Sale Thread in 2012. EDIT: If you want to vie for 2020 PotY join us in the 2020 Garage Sale Thread with your pawn shop finds.

This is all true. But if your picks aren't up to the standards set forth, you get excluded from the polls. Doesn't matter what you found.

The polls only allow for ten candidates so some very deserving people won't make the list. My criteria was my own, and I sincerely apologize if anyone felt unfairly excluded. I hope everyone continues to post their finds from any and all non-retail establishments.
