For eight straight years, the Garage Journal forum has maintained an annual Garage Sale thread for members to post their finds, bargains, hauls and side-of-the-road pickups. And for the last seven years, a new member has kicked off the new thread around midnight on the eve of the New Year.

For the last couple of years, the new host has been chosen from the top 10 most prolific posters from the current year, excluding those those who have previously hosted the thread. As of this post, those eligible nominees are:

bmwrd0
244 posts

d42jeep
232 posts

LesserSon
231 posts

txlonghorn1989
217 posts

Provincial
150 posts

bluebolt
134 posts

davethorik
129 posts

r_olson_06
122 posts

Oily Nails
121 posts

BFBOB
86 posts

All of these folks have demonstrated a regular commitment to both posting finds and to commenting and congratulating their fellow posters. Any of them would make a fine host. In addition to thread launch, the host provides the following services, as defined by member jakemac:

Welcoming Committee
Lead Cheerleader
Entertainment Director
Troll Hunter
Dispute Diffuser
Suckage Arbitrator
Head Enabler

Last year's host added "Award Distributor" and yours truly continued the "Picker of the Year" award selection by GJ members. Next year's host can expand or collapse that list of services because, let's be real--this is all just for fun.

Be sure to peruse this thread before voting, as candidates are free to withdraw from consideration, make their campaign stump speeches, offer bribes, etc. However, keep it positive--this ain't a presidential primary debate!

So, without further ado, let the voting begin.
