Well i went to theto the Pevely Flea market south of Stlouis, Mo today and didnt really find any good deals there but i did scour Craigslist and found a Nice tool box that i thought looked worth the money. It ended up being a KRA 307D, The gentleman was only asking $100 bucks and i had intentions of bargaining with him a bit, but after talking to him he was needing some jack rebuild kits so i decided to not negotiate in fear of making him mad and then loosing the Jack profit. This is my first Snap on Toolbox and i must say it is one Heavy SOB. Im not sure if i like the deep drawer configurations but for the money im sure it was worth it, Any comments on this particular model, or the age? The second drawer sticks and he told me that the slide was bad and would have to be replaced. I have intentions on searching thru old posts and recalling how to remove the drawers and slides and possibly ordering whatever replacements i need. Im stoked on my new purchase and i need now to find a apropriate sized top box. It has your normal small dings and had been repainted at least once in its life, Has some surface rust in some of the drawers but its not bad. It doesnt have much chrome appeal on the drawers im guessing that was factory. Anyways the dimensions are 21" deep x 31 1/2 wide and 31" tall not counting the caster height. Talk to me boys....

They are a tough old box, well worth the money IMHO.If you pull out the drawer you should be able to see a number on the slide.Should be something like 1257 or similar.Give a Snappy dealer the number and the can tell you if it's still available. If not some time spent straightening can do wonders to an old one.

For $100 you should be able to get alot of use outta that sucker. Those are good solid old boxes. Heavy steel as you noticed! haha.. I kinda like those older boxes with the "curved lip" drawers

Btw my slides are 81153 and 81155. I tried using the "flatten a clamp" tool to release the spring inside and it worked on some and others not so much. I did find in removing drawer 2,which was really the only one that i have problems with, someone had tried to fix a broken slide by spot welding it to the drawer. It was a sloppy job and i must fix correctly so does anyone know if these specific slides are still available? Secondly im upstairs now and how does the slide attach to the drawer? I would also like to have the correct tool to remove the slides if someone would be kind enough to provide a link. Im glad i dont ask for too much around here, LOL.

Ok.. I have removed the drawer slides and im thinking about mixing up a batch of simple green to soak them in, Any problems with using SG? Secondly i need a new drawer 1 for the inside of the box 81155 and the mate 81153. Is there a difference between the left and right, to the best of my knowledge i dont believe there is because the catches rotate when flipped end over end. Are these drawer slides still available? And how on earth do you remove the "inside box slide" i can see little **** that stick out but for the life of me i can figure out how they would hold the slide in place.

Here is the link for the box i bought, I was interested in the top box but he was serious on getting $400 and i think i can do better on a price if i keep looking.

Steve, I have two of those top boxes...one of them is in my toolbox resto threads in my signature. They're great boxes, but $400 is definitely high for one of those. You should be able to get one in good shape anywhere from $150 to $300.

I dont think he really wanted to sell it, so he priced it a little higher. I could tell by his tone that he wouldnt negotiate, He was solid on the price.
