Saw one on sale at good price but hesitated because can't find anything on their website... I think, but not sure it was mention on one of the threads here before , don't remember.

Craftsman item no. 00958833

can't find anything about this on the normal sears stores web or their computer.

but their hometown store carries it. Nothing much on reviews or anywhere in the internet. This is similiar to the Delta contractor saw in the same category I think.

This is the craftsman one...

This is the Delta one.

I have had the Delta for almost two years now. I have no complaints about it at all. The t-square fence was the main selling point for me and it has been excellent. And it has plenty of power for anything I've tried to do with everything from hard woods to cedar and many things in between. It is probably still the best deal in this price range. I have done no recent research since acquiring this saw for myself.

I saw a lot of good reviews on the Delta #36-725T2 , then some comments says the fence have problems maybe that was the Ridgid and the Ridgid 4512 or 4520. But not much info or review on this one the craftsman TJZ10/3
They are supposedly to be the same class of saw.. I know these are not cabinet saws but a step above the fold-able smaller ones...

hmmm seems like reading the newer Delta 36-725T2 comments, there are a lot of dead motor issues and piss poor customer services from Delta being rude down to no return calls or emails... ... and looking at their facebook page... they acknowledge there was an issue with "small" percentage of their saws, but they are correcting the issue at manufacturing... not even know what that means. Now I am not even sure if the lowes that carries them have limited stock because it was popular or it was just being fixed secretly.... Disappointed Probably should look at the Ridgid R4520 now...

This is from their facebook page.

Delta Machinery Paul Cromika no there is not. We put out a statement about a small number of saws that had a motor malfunction. We have corrected the issue in manufacturing.

Any one have any good insight on the Ridgid R4520...

The Craftsman looks almost identical to my refurbished Ridgid I bought brand new for $300.00. I worked on Delta Unisaws for several years so any homeowner grade table saw is a disappointment to me. It is my main table saw and has done everything I've asked it to do.

Personally, I think the fence pretty much *****. But it's a step up from the old homeowner specials. I've been waiting for an affordable aftermarket fence system for this type of saw.

:dunno: Sorry. Can't figure out how to delete the duplicate post.

The Craftsman is the R4512 everyone says they are the same... but no one reviews the craftsman one... so dunno, probably some subtile differences... they were introduced out just about when craftsman brands were sold... so SBD probably don't like to give $$$ to TTI.... there are some good things and bad from one I have read about the R4512 not sure if it has been addressed with the new R4520... at least it was suppose to be lifetime warranty, not too sure.

R4512 seems to be discontinued few blade alignment issues with the Truss or trusel from the monkeys handing the boxes... was able to find a few reviews. and few front back blade movements in few hundredth of inches...

As far as the Delta that 36-725T2 is no UniSaw... but they are the same "grade" as the other two.. The complains about the motor is fine, but almost all of them also complain about the poor customer services and response... that is definitely a turn off on buying that saw.

Reason I am looking at these contractor type saw is the budget, and space... would love a Cabinet saw too... Space is premium... For a Noob guy trying to work with wood... not going to happen unless something dropped in front of my house from a passing truck.

and the reason I was asking this was because saw the Craftsman one on sale for $499 at the local sears store... two on the floor of the almost empty store. it's good price, that was last week, still undecided today probably gone by now... Not sure where you have gotten that for $300, I would have get it in a heart beat. Beats my current contractor saw.. I can cut it within hundredth of an inches, but the setup to do that for each cut is way too much.

as far as better fence, I think I have seen a few video of some / few that outfitted the Biesemeyer fence on the R4512... If I find it will post it, not sure about the affordable part.

There are a lot of attractive features to these saws. Don't get me wrong. Mobility is one of them. I built a mobile outfeed table and mobile infeed table so I have no problems cutting sheet goods accurate enough for basic cabinetry, etc. The fence needs to be checked frequently. I never use the gauge. The seam in the rails messes with it. I'm told that can be smoothed out.

I tune mine up fairly often. I use a dial indicator with an apparatus that slides in the miter slot. I've never got it perfect but I'm not building piano's.

They are a good homeowner level saw. Far better than any table top or those folding things. Plus you can get decent dust collection with a good shop vac and a Dust Deputy. Again, all mobile.
