I left my house this afternoon and noticed a neighbor had hauled out a pile of scrap and junk to the curb.

An old 4 way lug wrench caught my eye so I stopped. There was also a tire iron and old Hein Werner bottle jack. Just then the neighbor came around from the side with another dolly of items. Nice guy, I went to his yard sale in the past but don’t know him well.

I said are you getting rid of scrap? He goes “Cleaning out the garage. Take whatever you want.” I said cool, thank you, took the three items and went on my way.

A couple hours later I return to see the pile has increased. Buckets of stuff! :willy_nil I stop and spot lots of new hardware, plumbing fittings, etc.. One bucket has some puller parts. Hmmm...

The guy comes to the front again as I’m lining the buckets near my car. We start chatting and talking about his past yard sale and such. He tells me he should’ve had two or three more sales. I find out he already moved into a condo in another city!

Next thing I know he hauls out this table saw. I notice it’s an old Craftsman. I’m like :wtf: He tells me it’s a good saw. Anyway, I took what I had, thanked him and left.

I go home, start emptying the buckets and find out there are some real treasures.

Figured I’d better head back over and see if anything new is out there. Nothing much thank goodness,, and he’s gone home.

After a brief look at this old saw, I managed to wrangle it into the back of the Soul. I did gouge my bumper a bit, but got it.

Hardware, staples, casters, stainless bolts, plumbing, discs, an assortment of stuff.

Can’t believe he tossed the pullers.

Proto bearing separators. Ken Tool hub puller, two Snap On, and some unmarked.

Great finds and saves. It’s a shame he’s doing it but probably overwhelmed with all the stuff Hess accumulated.

I’m sure he was too, stuck with all the garage stuff after moving to a condo.

That's a winner.
 Yep. It was a nice surprise.

That hub puller is missing a leg I would go back and see if he has it.

Man, what a cheap jerk, only throws away two of the legs.:lol_hitti That’s a joke of course. I thought it might be in a bucket, there were about 6 buckets, but nope. I might have a leg for it around somewhere.

We had a "free sale" at my grandparents house about a month ago. We planned to do the garage "free sale" the next week but a couple of family members got quarantined. I am totally overwhelmed by the volume of stuff so I can relate to your neighbor. I'm sure he didn't want all that usable stuff to end up in a dumpster. Too much stuff just gets paralyzing.

I also gave away one of those hub pullers.
