Finally getting some progress on our 36x60x10 with a 12x60 lean-to on the back after many rain delays. Wettest January and February on record.

Today the slab plumbing went in for the bathroom and hose bibs with the threat of rain lingering, and inspection called for in the morning! <insert happy :bounce: dance here>
Hopefully the footers and the rest of the slab prep this week if the rain holds off, and then concrete next week if the rain stays away.
Did I mention the rain? I'm sick of the ever loving rain...

Very nice. Plans look great. Congrats on the inspection approval.
I've been waiting months for concrete work here in NJ too. Between covid, rain, winter and now thaw mixed with more rain, my guy is very backed up.

Nice place its gonna be! I like the design and layout. Wish i was able to put in plumbing in my shop. Inspections are always stressful. Cant wait to get my electrical and framing inspection out of the way!

Looking forward to its completion!

Yeah, between the rain (75" since February 2020) and getting the property ready to build on has been a VERY long road.
The next ten days are supposed to rain free and the builder said he wants the concrete in place by the end of next week. So...I'm keeping my fingers crossed. lol
Good luck with yours! Hopefully your guy can make good progress on getting caught up.

The inspector must have came by way early, first stop of the day maybe? I hadn't even had my coffee yet and my alarm system failed --> the dogs, they didn't go hog nut crazy like they usually do. hahaha
Around noon I went to the permit box and there it was, the passed inspection report for slab plumbing. :)

Hope your inspections pass without issue, once the framing and electrical are out of the way, everything else seems easy peasy.

I have to have a CO inspection, Certificate of Occupancy.
That's a bummer too, cause I can't do anything inside until the build is complete with power on and every outlet checked. :-\

Very nice!

You might consider putting a larger door out to the lean-to. I find that I work on my projects quite a bit out on the covered porch and its nice having a large passageway to go back and forth with materials, roll tools out, and such.

Good luck with the construction.

The barn lights arrived yesterday. Even came with LED bulbs.
They seem like "okay" quality, the goose neck and mount are pretty dang stout. Each light came with about 7' of hookup wire.

Yeah, my wife even mentioned, "don't you want a garage door on the back"?
I may have one framed in, like a 6' wide roll up door and install it in the future.
Will discuss with the GC so he can eye roll again on a change order. lol

When he called to tell me the plans had been approved with the building department, I said great!, now come get the real plans...hahahah

dang...CO sounds silly. Luckily they only require me to have 1 GFCI, 1 light inside, 1 light by entry door, and a few pieces of conduit. And obviously the correct wiring. But its minimal. Shouldn't be too bad. However I am doing it myself including running the wire from the pole so it should be interesting to say the least lol

Look what followed me home, from HD tonight! This Simpson pressure washer, oops, I mean DeWalt, hopped right in the truck with me. It looked at me with those sad puppy dog eyes. How could one resist?
This will replace my cheap electric pressure washer, although I did like the fact it turns off when you let off the trigger.

I added my own quick disconnect hose and wand with swivel connector.
Still have to put the water hose quick disconnect on.

Little update on the garage shop build.

Foundation is in place, what a day yesterday was!

Had only one access point to get the concrete in the hole, so pump truck was called in, and 7 trucks of concrete showed up.

I don't envy these guys at all! They worked hard and almost non-stop all day.

Today I leveled all the dirt around the slab, well almost all of it, and cleaned up a little so the framers will have a nice office to work in.

Now we wait for the gold to arrive! err, I mean the lumber.
It sure seems like it's gold because of the cost. sheesh...

Hopefully I will have some walls and sheathing up next week! :)

Today is day 2 of the framing.
This is being balloon framed because of the trusses.
Some big ole headers on the lean-to.
They used dbl 2x12’s.
I think it’s WAY over engineered, but it should be stout!
If it doesn’t rain tomorrow, they will be setting the trusses! [emoji846]

Thanks!

What model backhoe do you have?

I'm getting the BH77 if it ever shows up to the dealer, and I'm not sure the hydraulic thumb option is available.

Yes, I'm trying to decide now between the regular style 3 point QA or going with the "Pat's" QA just on the lower links.

It looks great. I was looking for this thread the other week to keep following along and sadly couldn't find it. I just had my 24x36 finished after a few months of construction. Very impressed with how fast they have gotten yours together. Thanks for the update and for sharing the build.
