When one thinks about automotive products, well lets just say levels do not come to mind. So this one threw me for a loop until I was reading about some of the products that the company made.

Of special note I could not locate any records for Mr. Douglas at this time and date.

Starting in 1923/24 Mr. I.D. Blumenthal a traveling salesman was in need of someone to fix his radiator; when he met a local tinsmith in Charlotte North Carolina who used his "Magic Powder" to repair the radiator and the rest is History as they say with Solder Seal.

I will leave you a few links of their History for you to look over, some of the products you have used before like, LIQUID WRENCH, TITESEAL, ENGINE BRITE etc. (the next part has me a little lost but I am guessing that in 1958,they came up with the Douglas line of tools, including augers, hole saws, hammers ,levels, and measuring devices that were added maybe this is the same Douglas as the inventor?).

C. B. Douglas Adjustable Plumber's Level Filed Aug. 6th, 1949 and Granted on April 29th, 1952. Pat. # 2,594,543.

The company is still going strong as of this date, with a work force of 250 people. (see links).

Thanks Woody!

We were a Warehouse Distributor for Radiator Specialty Co. out of Charlotte, North Carolina.
It didn't take much to come up with a 200-case minimum order - half of it would be EB-1 Gunk "Engine Brite" and FEB-1 "Foamy Engine Brite".
They also made "Liquid Wrench", "Solder Seal" radiator sealer, "Motor Medic", and "Trans Medic", among other products.

Was not aware they had any tools available!

On another thread I posted that I used to put aircraft engines together with "Lightweight Tite Seal" a gasket sealer that was made by RSC. WWII gasket kits for Continental aircraf engines came with a small tube of this sealer. It worked very well. Similar to, but less messy and easier to clean up after than Permatex No. 2.

I checked the old chemicals on the shelf of the garage. These should bring back some memories.

^ I had the entire engine compartment of the Opel filled with FEB-1 Gunk one morning at a car wash out in Lakewood.
Small wonder that vehicle had so many gremlins in the electrical system.
