This is a pic of a hoist rail setup I helped one of my employees fabricate and set up in his garage, and the bike repair definitely falls into the technique catagory. I had a hoist rail, and he wanted one like it. He needed to replace a transmission shift fork, and the manual called for engine removal. After examining the situation, We drained all fluids, rigged it for lifting, and the rest is history. We had to grind a small 1/8 inch flat spot on his frame bracket, and off the bottom end came. Fork was replaced, bike flipped over, filled, and he was back riding shortly. Just goes to show, there's more than one way to do something.

I like the story.
Reminds me of the first 302 Mustangs.
It was impossible to get to the back, left spark plug for replacement.
The factory book said to remove the engine!
Some guy figured out where to take a hole saw to the floor from the inside.
That was back in the pre internet days, but the trick spread like wildfire anyway.
