I am looking at getting a couple of them but am worried what gravel will do to them. Which one of those did you get? The standard or the heavy duty? Let me know how this brand of mat works out for you.

Wow this is turning into a Saskatoon thread! I am interested in these mats as well. I have spent the last 2 days plowing my driveway with my quad and the snow is now melting off it in my garage and running under the overhead door where it is icing up...... Do these have a lip that will stop the water from running off them? My concrete slab slopes and the water will go towards the door every time.

Sorry to break the chain. If I lived in the snowy north, I would invest in one. I used to hate seeing snow on my vehicles when I lived in New York, and the mess in made on my floor. Don't really need one in Florida.

So, what do you do with the water, snow, slush once it is on this mat? I don't see anyway to "drain" the mat.

I bought 2 pads for our cars a couple of years ago, Carpad.
They did a good job of containing the water, before it would run everywhere.
How much water it held was really how much of a slope in the garage you had. I would use a wet vac to soak up the water from the deepest part which was mostly near the door. It did save a lot of the mess. They had 4 bits of garden hose that you inserted all around the sides. I used it for 3 or 4 years, sold one to friend whose wife had a habit of wheelspinning on the mat, not sure why, it lasted less than one year. They are heavy and dont move but they do trap some moisture underneath but certainly better than before. I now have an epoxy floor and had not considered putting it down again until this post. Might give it a try.

I have the Park Smart mat in one of my bays. It works well at containing the water. To empty it i just open the garage door and sweep it out with a broom.

This is the first season i have used it though. I made my own last winter with a large tarp and wood sides, This also worked well but i got a great deal on the Smart Park on ebay. My only concern with it is taking it apart for the summer and storing it and then setting it back up. I keep thinking of maybe ordering of of the full rubber ribbed mats for my other bay and seeing which one works best. The nice thing about the large rubber ribbed pad is in the summer months i could just roll it up and put it away. This is, the ribs will prevent the water from moving side to side, but not flowing out the ends.

I am not from Saskatoon but many of my family are.... Anyway I have had a similar mat and it is great and holds a ton of water. It is very durable and driving over gravel and rocks did no damage. Every couple of weeks I would just broom it off onto the driveway.

OK boys, I took delivery of my ParkSmart CleanPark Mat. Made in the USA (Cali) and purchased from Edmondton. They have a 16', 18' and 20' model, all 7 feet wide. I bought the "regular" thickness 16' mat for $179, plys $33 shipping (FedEx to your door). They also have a "HeavyDuty" mat with Vinyl that is twice the thickness, which are also twice as much coin. Since both had the same 1 year warranty I didn't bite. It's a great idea in that you just unfold the vinyl sheet and snap a "curb" all around, which retains the water/snow/slush/etc.

After thoroughly cleaning the floor it was easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy. Took 30 minutes. I'll be re-vamping this 2-car-attached to make it all purty (including putting down epoxy) this spring, so this was a must.

The curbs on this one can be reasonably easily removed (they snap down to pinch the vinyl) if one wanted to store it. It came in that box you see, so it shouldn't take much more room to store. Probably a good idea and would increase it's life span.
