Grease Gun Storage

For this project, I used a short piece of 3" ABS pipe and 2 end caps.


I used a combination square to draw center lines on the pipe.


This picture shows layout lines and the first hole I drilled.


This picture is the finished pipe.


This picture shows the assembly mounted to the center post in my garage. Note that I stood the pipe off from the post using nuts as spacers. This spacing was needed so that the end caps would not conflict with the post. I did not glue on the bottom end cap as I wanted it removeable so that drippings could be periodically cleaned out.


This picture shows the grease gun stored inside.


This picture shows the nozzle installed in it's storage hole. It is a 5/8" angled hole I drilled in the side.

Gee, makes my practice of pitching them in a 5 gallon bucket kinda crude by comparison...

I wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't make and sell that.

Two questions:
1) How did you cut the slot?
2) What are the other holes there for?

I cut the slot with a hacksaw. The extra holes were for screwdriver access to the screws holding the assembly to the post.

I have one of these. Works fairly well.

I would guess the other holes are for mounting.

that's a clean cut slot, a mill maybe ????
