I have a set of Ribe sockets I haven't used since I bought them 2 years ago, I know VAG head bolts, that's why I bought them but I'm think about getting rid of these sockets.
Where and on what are Ribe fasteners being used?

Mostly on Italian cars, Alfa Romeo use them a lot.
Certain VW-Audi head bolts are not Ribe, they are Polydrive which is very slightly different.

I don't think there's much of a market for Ribe in the US yet but, that may change as more automobiles become based on global platforms.

I bought a set to pull a head on an Alfa Romeo. Haven't even seen a Ribe bolt since.

What is the benefit of these fasteners? I can't stand torx or allen on cars now, they always fill up with garbage preventing proper fitment of the driver until you clean it.

They use them in various other place too. I recall them being used on brackets and all kinds of things. Just their alternative to Torx, used all over the place.
They're same principle as Torx. Only, they don't tend to strip out like Torx do. These are a lot like Torx Plus (6-lobe) but with sharp square edges.

Ha, no chit, you are probably right. The Apex tools set is $9.00 on amazon but it only has M6, M8, M10, and M12 ... I believe VAG head bolts are M9, oh well.
My set from Matco was like $190.00. WTF!

VAG headbolts (some) are M10 Polydrive. Not Ribe.

Here's a comparasin i found between the VW Polydrive headbolt driver and an M9 Ribe-CV driver:
Ribe-CV on the right, Polydrive on the left.
When i get my VW T10070 (Polydrive socket driver) i'll get more pics.

Methinks you've been looking at something else for too long!
I should send you some Ribe-CV and Triple Square bolts and drivers. Positve engagement at its finest.
