I was just wondering if there was anyone collecting the MASTERENCH or ONEHANDER wrenches? For a lack of a better description-they are a type of self adjusting, spring loaded pipe wrench. Some have serrated jaws & some have flat jaws. I have quite a few of each in various sizes ranging from 6" to 18". I don't have much info about these wrenches, except I was told the MASTERENCH's were made in the 1920's in the USA & the ONEHANDER is made in Germany. Any help would be appreciated. I have included a few pics with a 12" ONEHANDER & a 10" MASTERENCH, each side.

I've got a 10 inch Masterench similar to yours, the logo on the handle is a bit different. I can post pics this evening.

Hi,

Please except my apologies I do not know how to post a picture(I have asked another member for help and maybe this year I can learn).

Masterench are very collectable they are not rare but somewhat hard to find in my part of the woods.

My wrench reads 10" MASTERENCH chrome vanadium on one side.
Heller Brothers co. Newark N.J. U.S.A. Patented 4-14-25 and 7-5-27 on the other side.

I did see one with a diamond shape in the rear of the handle but the man wanted an arm & leg and the tool was in very bad shape I passed on that one.

As mickey expressed look at alloy artifacts for more information.

Good hunting

All the best Woody.

Elroy has one of those around here somewhere. When we stumble across it we'll post a picture.

Elroy believes that wrenchr posted a picture of his about a year ago.

We understand they are indeed manufactured in the 20's and were a fairly common items.
