im a little mad that they listed an item as USA made pretty boldly, and when it arrived it clearly says MAYHEW, made in taiwan. now i do like what i got, and i dont think i'll return it, but i did buy it over other items becuase it was supposedly usa made, and since they are prybars, stronger is better for me. they are the catpaw line, so now guess its a lower level line of tools??

now i do beleive that taiwan is better quality than china...but not much and like i said it was boldy advertised as usa made. but i do like them, and they look pretty good.

any suggestions as to what i should say in my email or phone call?

Well, for one thing- if you bought it because it is US made and it isn't, return it! And tell them why you are doing so.

Hell, you can get US made prybars at your local Sears.

Well if you like the quality and don't plan to return them, I would just let them know of the mistake on their site and inform the that you will be less inclined do purchase from them in the future because of it.

they are actually made by the same company. mayhew, makes lots of pry tools, and chisels/punches, for various other labels. im just a little peeved that they were advertised as american but not, but again it was 35 bucks, so honetly not a huge deal, but when i buy other pry bars like curved ones, i will make sure they are usa first

not really for the price i paid im happy with them, just a little peeved, but they arent the only ones who list them as USA. if i had paid more for them i would return them, but otherwise i can deal, im not a USA only tool guy, i just bought the set over another that was very similar because they stated usa made.

and hey i knew the deadblows i got were made in china...3 for 15 bucks had to be. but they are for wood work, like decking work, so i didnt actually want to spend money on good ones, that i'll drop in mud, may loose, have "walk off", cheap is what i was looking for

The Cats Paw line from Mayhew has always been imported as far as I know. I was surprised to see all of the different sites listing them as US made. Even the regular Mayhew Dominator pry bars are imported to a degree. The blades are US made but the handle isn't. I think the statement on the package was assembled in the US with global components. I wouldn't be made at Tooltopia per se because they largely cut and paste what the manufacturer gives them. Manufacturers are switching suppliers faster than they update their product information. :wtf:

I have a Mayhew Dominator Pry Bar. The handle says something like "Handle Made in Taiwan" but there is no indication where the bar is made. I always assumed that Mayhew was using an imported grip on a USA made pry bar... but I really don't know for sure.

Why not call, and state that you ordered the USA made ones, and they shipped you the Taiwan made ones. Then ask them to ship the stock that was advertised as USA made, with a RMA label for the Taiwan ones.

Just bought a "dominator" large pick set (craigslist). Rubber handle says "molded in taiwan".

Also received today a (sears order) craftsman pro 5pc prybar set (re-branded dominator) that say USA on the handles

Tooltopia ha always been good place for me. Recently had an order of crowfoot set with two 19mm (no 18mm), and they immediately shipped the 18mm crowfoot out. Tooltopia always shipped very fast and have competitive prices.
