That's a good one. You can also use -case -cover -etc to weed out snap-on cell phone skins and other non tool items.

What is with so many SNAP ON tool sellers not listing any part # in thier ad ???

What are these sellers trying to hide ???

i think alot of people dont know people want, or half the time the part number listed if you an old tool which is no longer in the catalog.

I always try to provide this but it's not always possible. I really wish they gave us another 6-10 characters to work with, sometimes I leave out the part number in order to fit a proper description, (I'll always put it in the listing though).

It's really critical if you are selling something like a single wrench, and a buyer will want to match the style to the rest of a set.

Not necessarily in this case, but you may want to try searching for misspellings. For example, some people use hydrolic instead of hydraulic.

Good deals can sometimes be had because of this - not as many people can find it!

I usually put the part # in the description and if possible the title. Sometimes on "sets" and such I don't because it takes up too much room and as you mention there aren't enough characters available. I almost always make sure the part # is in the description though. So if you click the "title and description" box below the search tab it will search all.

Exactly, also people list stuff in the weirdest areas, I search all of ebay not just certain area because of this. People spell not so gooder...

Ok sellers, here's a tip you can sink your teeth into...

You don't need the extra digits to get you're tool or part number to show up in "title only" searches.

For example, at this moment, if you copy and paste the following number: "1-4511" be sure to use the "quotes" to minimize your return, you will find my listing for a set of SK Tools, and if you will note, no where in the title is the tool number, only in the body of the description and in the info box, that asks for a tool or part number when you list it.

Here is the listing you should fine, and its the only one out there at the moment:

Ebay does that on purposes, its not by chance. In the event you dont find the listing, your doing something wrong, and you should not have the box checked " search title AND description". Should come up in a "title only" search. I just tried to make sure, and it worked.

Give it a try, and in the future, you can use your title for keywords and leave the tool number out, but make sure you get it into the box in the listing where it asks for it!.
