Pro-America (KAL Professional Tools) = Snap-on brand Pliers?

Does anyone know if Pro-America (KAL Professional Tools) manufactures/ever manufactured Snap-on branded pliers? Unfortunately, their website has been down for some time now, but certain design features seemsimilar. Anybody know if they are still around, or did they close shop?

I wondered the same thing, I purchased a a bunch of pliers from them, just as the web site dissipeared, They sent me the stuff and I still have the invoice. But no return address. I wanted to buy more, but they were gone. :headscrat

Proto's miniature pliers are dead ringers for Pro Americas as well. They make em for sure.

I actually called Pro-America when I returned a set of broken pliers and the guy I spoke with told me they make some of MAC's stuff as well.

There was a recent discussion, too, on the SO's new pliers. Someone claimed they were made by SO and not re-branded. Just thought I'd throw that into the mix. Don't know enough to verify the accuracy of the info.

I have located KAL/Pro-America. :) They recently posted a job ad on Craiglist with their current contact information, so they are still around.

They used to have a website at http://www.kalprotools.com/ that they shut down (possibly November 2009). They now have http://www.americankal.com/ (registered January 29, 2010), but they don't have a website available there currently, it's just a parked domain used for email addresses.
