Hi all, first time posting, just looking to get a little help to replace the top box assembly on my Matco tool cart. How it all started was the lid on the box broke away from one of the hinges. I called the DM in Phoenix and he replaced it for me free of charge, when I got it I thought it was just going to be the lid but it ended up being the whole box assembly minus the drawer. Now the interesting part, I can't figure out how to remove the box from the frame rails without bending the sides out. It's not a big deal on the old one, but I don't want to damage the new one. I took some pictures to show what I'm talking about:

This is the lip that won't go over the frame rails

It would come off downwards but I don't know if it's possible to take off these wheels

And this is the made in china 'thing' they replaced it with

I appreciate any help you guys can provide me with, thank you.

The wheels will come off and it has to come off downwards. That is the only way unless you want to cut some metal. There is a plastic insert in the tube that is holding the casters on.

chad is right on the wheels they should slide out the bottom. you might need new inserts once you remove them though. so be careful

Thanks for the quick reply's everyone, I got it all squared away and fixed up, now I just need to find the original decals to put on there since the new top didn't come with them. Thanks again for the help.
