Went out to buy a pair of sneakers, this is what I came back with.

Here's the deal, I purposely avoided looking at the estate sales website because I'm trying not to buy more stuff. Anyhow I went to the department store down the road to get a pair of sneakers and on the way back I see an estate sale sign pointing down the street, I pass it up, good, then I decide why not have a look probably just some pots and pans and baby clothes. So I turn on the next street and it doesn't go through, maybe an omen, but now I'm determined, I pull a U-turn and head back, the haul:

Your one lucky dude!

nice hard handles :)

Thanks, some of the hard handle are in rough shape, and the 24" extension is missing the retaining ball so I'll toss in my exchange box that's almost full, I wonder what they'll replace them with?

So how much were the sneakers?

So was your Kohls coupon 10,20,or 30% off? That should have saved enough to buy the tools. New Balance are great shoes.

They were on sale for $40 something, Id have to find the receipt. I didn't have a coupon, didn't know they had coupons but everyone in line in front of me had some sort of coupon, I'll have to remember that for next time.

I like New Balance a lot and they make some of them in the USA (should be all of them), only sneaker I can find that are comfortable, I need the wide shoes.

my kind of shoe shopping there.

And all Snap-On except for the stuff that is obviously not. I now believe I have the world's largest collection of distributor wrenches in the world, unless you guys are still carrying them on the truck.

You seem to get a lot of great scores. You must have a sixth sense for tool sniffing.

No sixth sense, it's just dumb luck, very rarely when I go looking for tools to I do well, the good scores I always just seem to happen onto them when I'm not intentionally looking. But when I do find them I move quickly, grab everything and sort it out later, you can always put something back. At this sale someone grabbed a set of impacts that I was thinking about, they were Craftsman so I didn't care but that's how quickly the stuff goes. What I'm wondering is how much stuff I missed because I didn't get there until later (around 11 am).

Was this a Berland's bruised and reduced sale?

No, it was at a house about a 1/2 mile from my house, but I am just down the road from their Berland's Lombard location, am I missing something?

You always get the best stuff!

My old lady would strongly disagree.

Except those, and ~75% of the shoes they make, where hecho in china.
Cheap shoes are for chumps. :bounce:
Nice tool score though.

They did have USA made ones at the store, but unfortunately those were the only ones I could find in my size and I had a gift card, my next pair will be ordered USA made and ordered online from New Balance website.

I have given up on other brands of shoes, all I buy is New Balance, specifically the 609. I buy them at Famous Footwear when they have a buy one pair, get the second pair half price. They never have two pair, but will order and ship to the house for free.

Great shoes.

:(The New Balance 609 is no longer available. This style has been replaced by the New Balance 621...........not made in the U.S.A.
