I just thought I'd share my recent warranty experience in case anyone cares.
With all of the tools I got from Advance last year during the crazy sale and all of my personal GW tools, I've seen over 300 individuals.
Yesterday, with the Advance coupon I posted, I bought a couple of wobble extension sets and I found my first quality issue. The 10" 3/8" drive extension had badly peeling chrome. I took it out to show my wife (no, she was not impressed) and got a piece stuck in my hand. Not cool.
In any case, today I called Danaher as many others on here have done. The woman (Melissa) who took my call was quite nice, but first told me to go to Fastenal or Napa to warranty the extension. It wasn't until after I asked about a second thing (a nutdriver set I had that was missing an 11mm and had two 12mm) that she said she'd just take care of it over the phone. After that, it was completely painless- she took my info, told me to keep the 12mm driver and pitch the extension and said that my replacements would be sent in the next couple days.
Fwiw, I emailed GW when I first got the nutdriver set months ago and never got a response. I never use 11mm so I didn't worry about it, but that was a little annoying.
