I just had a new pole barn built. Have any of you guys ever installed the garage doors before the slab was in?, if so is there anything special I would have to do? Thanks

Morton installed the garage door before the slab on my new pole barn. They just blocked the bottom panel up to the finished floor with scrap wood and installed the door from there. When the concrete slab was installed and I closed the door the first time I was surprised that the fit was perfect and the door did not need any adjustment.

My doors were installed before the concrete was poured. The builder (Foltz) shot the elevations and marked the door frames prior to the doors being installed. This photo shows 2 of the 4 doors installed. You can see the door contractors orange lift inside the building working on the center door.

This works well, but remember to not have the bottom of the tracks set into the cement. My buddy did this and the rails were not straight and we wound up cutting the bottom out of the cement to be able to adjust.
