Got a few of them, don't know anything about them, but while people are looking I'll also repost this other German wrench for an ID (shares some similarities with the B&D), figured whoever might know the story behind the B&D might know this one to.

I have some German made B&D drill bits.

Dumb question, but how do you know the "W" stands for West.
It makes the most sense, but...
Is there a German word that starts with "W" that means "forged" or "manufactured"

During the cold war there was East and West Germany, split. My Eloras say either Germany, W. Germany or West Germany.

That one of the OP's looks like a Heyco.

Went to the B7D website and found this (scary):

Found this at another site:

The Black & Decker Corporation is the leading maker of power tools and accessories in the United States--and is the firm most responsible for the creation of the post-World War II consumer market for power tools. The firm's key power tool brands are Black & Decker and DeWalt. Black & Decker (B&D) is also a leading producer of electric lawn and garden tools, security hardware (locks and locksets under the Kwikset, Baldwin, and Weiser brands), general and decorative hardware products (Baldwin), plumbing products (Price Pfister), and specialty fastening and assembly systems (Emhart). B&D products are sold in more than 100 countries and are manufactured at 36 plants, 18 in the United States and 18 abroad, located in Brazil, China, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. link where info was found

So it could very well be their own wrenches, but it does seem odd that they would be SAE from Germany, maybe a market for all the folks over there that own vintage American cars (there's quite a few).

I don´t know who makes these wrenches but they are licensed products. The german
home improvement store "Praktiker" has a complete line of "Black + Decker" hand tools (Sockets/ratchets/wrenches/clamps/screwdrivers/chisels etc. etc.) The package shows www.suki.com as distributor. (A wholesaler of tools + hardware)

The german Black + Decker plant makes only drill bits afaik.

I needed a 24mm offset wrench to work on my car, so I went on eBay to see if I can find one for cheap. I saw this Black and Decker W Germany NOS for $12.

I just got it today, seems well made. I like the non-shiny finish.
