A month ago I was looking for a service cart for home and it came down to between the Harbor Freight 5 drawer service cart and the Waterloo UC410BU (same as the Sears Craftsman 4 drawer) service cart. So with tape measure in hand I went to the stores and proceeded to measure. I then drew up the top tills in AutoCAD and saved them as PDF's. I then figured others may be interested in this info, so here it is. I am not sure how these will orientate, so you guys may have to rotate them, if so just hit Control, Shift and either plus or minus keys at the same time to rotate.

PS,

I ended up with the Waterloo cart, but must report from a quality standpoint the Harbor Freight impressed me very much and I would say it is equally well built. I went with the Waterloo because it was larger and had the corner bumpers - but the Waterloo even at the lowest price I have found was $379, so twice the price of the HF unit.

Thanks for the effort. The PDF's are great.
BTW, I use a Harbor Freight cart. It was fun to compare it to the C-Man.

Okay guys I found my notes, so here are the drawer dimensions:

These are internal dimensions:

Craftsman/Waterloo
Drawer #1: 28-5/8" wide, 5-1/4" tall, 18" front to back.*
Drawer #2: 28-5/8" wide, 3-3/8" tall, 18" front to back.*
Drawer #3: 13-1/8" wide, 3-3/8" tall, 18" front to back.*
Drawer #4: 13-1/8" wide, 3-3/8" tall, 18" front to back.*
*Note: drawers are actually 18-1/4" front to back, but the tabs for the drawer latch mechanism protrude into the drawer space. Dimensions give are available space for actual tool storage.

Harbor Freight 5 drawer cart:

Drawer #1: 24-3/8" wide, 4-1/2" deep, 16-3/4" front to back.
Drawer #2: 24-3/8" wide, 2-3/4" deep, 16-3/4" front to back.
Drawer #3: 11-5/16" wide, 4-1/2" deep, 16-3/4" front to back.
Drawer #4: 11-5/16" wide, 2" deep, 16-3/4" front to back.
Drawer #5 11-5/16" wide, 2" deep, 16-3/4" front to back.

It looks the same as my HF red cart, based on the above pic. What was the price difference? How much does each cart weigh. That says a lot. The HF cart has more drawers.

Thanks for sharing you research with us. One question. Can you take the lid off of either one or at least flip it completely over so it is not sticking up. When I was working at the dealership the locking lid would have been mandatory but for my personal garage I don't need the lid and would rather have 360*access to the top shelf. Thanks again.

I have the red HF cart and if you remove the lift struts from the lid it will flip all the way backwards and hang down the back completely vertical on a piano style hinge. And yes it is removable if you take the hinge off the cart. The hinge is welded to the lid but bolted to the cart.

On the Waterloo/Craftsman as the Harbor Freight will if you remove the lift cylinders from the lid, it will fold completely against the back of the box.
