Figured with the other couple of woodworking projects making their way on to the board lately i would show off my little project. Pops asked me for some of my spare taps for his b-day, and since i really can't just do anything as simple as throwing some taps in a flat rate box and shipping it to him, this is what he got.
He didn't actually get both Morse tap charts, but having two made for a good photo op. Taps range from #0 machine screw to 1/2". He does sewing machine repair work, so the small machine screw sizes were necessary. I left extra spots for some of the less common thread pitches or bottoming taps etc. I did really want to keep it all USA, but the HF 4" micrometer was cheap and being digital will be easy to read. I did throw in a metric thread pitch gauge as well as an SAE version, just so he can make sure he isn't dealing with something metric.
Now i want to do the same thing for myself only i think i'm converting a whole drawer this time.
at least i won't have to make a whole box, just an insert this time!
