I have heard of a tool for helping drill out automotive frame rivets, any help from you guys finding it? Thanks!

I use a cut off tool and cut a + pattern in the top of the rivet the get under them with an air hammer and off they come

I 2nd mr. holeshot's air hammer recommendation....ONLY with a super sharp chisel!!!. This is 'really' the only way to destroy the frame rivets, let's say on Ranger rear shackle hangers. And this method also is excellent for removing the same type of rivets used to attach lower ball joints to the lca's on Blazers & S-10's.

long 1" cold chisel and as big a hammer as you can swing with about a 18" handle.
I've removed dozens of 3/8" and 5/16" frame rivets with no damage to the frame, and faster than grinding or drilling.
Only takes a few swings if you're serious about it.

I hate air hammers, so I've tried everthing else. I've found the suggestion offered by mrholeshot to be the quickest with the least amount of trouble.

I always heated the head red w/the torch,then knocked it off with a muffler gun. Then while everything is still hot ,punch the rivet out with a drift.No damage to any of the riveted parts that way.Sometimes,when the chisel gets dull,,it will leave some flash where the head was,I just hit it with a 4" 36 grit flex disc on the air grinder,then punched it out.

I always use the cutting torch. With some practice it's pretty easy to do without hurting the frame or the bracket. After I cut the heads off I knock the rivets out with the air hammer while they're still hot.
